What is Made in the USA?

WOW!! There are so many things that are Made in the USA that I had no ideal about. For years I just bought things without even thinking about it, once I started checking where things are made I found out we can get almost everything we need made right here in America. The internet allows us to find anything we want with ease. There is a shopping site that only has Made in America Stores in it Petriot, it has a lot of unique items. American Made Everything is another shopping site and is also a directory that has stores that carry American Made items. Made in the USA Challenge has tons of stores and even has a Master List of Stores that carry Made in America items.  That is just to name a few there are more shopping sites and stores online that carry American made items. There is a lot of information about American Made products on the internet, just Google it and you will find it. AmericanToyBoutique.com is of course my favorite store for kids. We are always looking for more Kids toys, games, furniture or anything Kids enjoy that are Made in the USA and Eco-Friendly. Most things Made in the USA are safe and well built to last. Sometimes they do cost a little more but if you look at the big picture they are worth it. Buying Made in the USA products also boost the economy and that helps with the unemployment that America is dealing with right now. I am so much more aware now then I ever was before about how important it is to buy American made items. So I try to always look before I purchase. Checkers - Board Games Made in America

I remember growing up playing Checkers with my dad. He usually won but it was fun just hoping to beat him, plus spending the time with him. My brother would get so mad when dad would win (which was most of the time) he was not a very good sport. I don't think he ever really grew out of that. It was always fun though. I wish more kids played the simple games like Checkers. There are so many video games they would rather play and a lot of them are fun but it's just not the same as sitting down having the interaction with another person.  A simple game of Checkers can stimulate the brain development in younger children and promote healthy brain function in the elderly. Checkers requires a lot strategy to be good at it. You have to try to figure out where your opponent is going to move next. So many questions to ask yourself. Which jump is best for me? How can I get a double jump? Where is my opponent going to move next? It can be mind boggling! Thinking like this kicks your brain into overdrive and will force critical thinking. Most children that have been exposed to this kind of thinking at an early age show more potential in school. Young or old everyone can appreciate a good game of Checkers its one of the best games to play. A Mother and Grandmother

As a Mother and a Grandmother my heart breaks when I see any of my kids or grand kids hurting.  My youngest son and his kids are hurting today and it probably won't end anytime soon. I know God is in control and they will be fine. I am sure they will be better but it hurts to see them go through it. I think now more then ever we need to be there for them and take the time with the kids to let them know that no matter what they are loved. I have some little American Made Cars that I had bought to display for AmericanToyBoutique.com but I think I will probably play cars with my grandson today. I try to give all my grand kids attention as much as I can but most of them are older and only wants Grandma in short doses and that is OK a little is better then nothing. I love my grand kids with all my heart and all of them know it.

Learning Toys

We are always looking for toys that aren't just fun, but are educational for our children and grandchildren. Children love books and like to be read to. Sesame Street has some great personalized books.  There fun to read and kid's love seeing their name in a story.  They help teach various things. There are so many great toys that are learning toys but fun also. My youngest grandson loves learning new things he is  three and at a perfect age to learn. He really gets in the video games which we all know they will have to learn a lot of that stuff in school. I would much rather him just play with his cars and trucks.
Did you know the first three years are the most important in shaping the child's brain architecture? Children learn more quickly during their early years than at any other time in life. Fall in Indiana

I got up this morning and went to my daughters house to get my grand-daughter on the bus for school. It was chilly out, I love the fall weather. I think this is my favorite time of year. Holidays are right around the corner and its comfortable to be outside, the leaves are falling and changing color. I have been so blessed to be able to watch my grandchildren while the parents work. Its always been my dream to be able to work from home and work around my children work schedules so I can watch the grand-kids. American Toy Boutique carries American made toys and games....and adding more almost daily. Right now we are adding stuffed toys! I have learned how important child play is.....its there jobs, that's pretty cool. I have 2 grand-daughters    that are reading all the time and they love reading stories with their names in them. I have made them The Ballerina Princess personalized book and they love it. Puzzles are a great way to help them develop fine motor and eye-hand coordination. I am getting started Christmas shopping it gets hard with the older kids because they always want money and I don't think that is as much fun, but I guess that's better then getting them something they won't like.  :)
